I highly doubt this thing will protect from dents, but I saw this online, needed a screen protector, and thought why not?

The packaging is highly generic. The only thing assuring me that I received the right item was the single line of text above the barcode. What that means, though, is this review can largely be applied to any such screen protector provided by this company(?).

Installation was a bit troublesome for me; It took a number of tries to both properly align the protector and to do so without having trapped dust on the inside. Part of the reason for this was that the protector just barely covers the entire screen area, so you have to get it just right. Apparently all screen protectors for this phone follow this format though. Also, a tip: since it statically adheres, you can use tape to remove dust that gets stuck to the 'sticky' side of the protector. Back to the product, the provided cardboard card (labeled 'soft card') is very soft, so using your own harder card might be preferable. That being said, the protector survived all of that and now rests perfectly aligned and dust free.

In use, the protector is pretty good. It doesn't tint the screens colors and seems pretty smudge/fingerprint resistant. It isn't totally without glare, but it's not too bad. Touching the screen works as expected. In fact, it changes the feeling of the screen a little bit (I would say slightly more traction), but also maintains the same feel if your fingers become moistened (which isn't the case normally). Whether or not this is a good thing is up to you.

All things considered, this item is WORTH IT.

Pros:
  • Minimal glare/effect on visibility of screen
  • Decent protection for touch screen
  • Static. Dry application and can be cleaned and re-applied/re-positioned
  • Changes feel of touch screen

Cons:
  • Covers just the screen and a hair more (though most Galaxy S3 protectors do this)
  • Changes feel of touch screen
